Grant Thornton Malaysia in new EXCO appointed by MOF to operate SSER

The Minister of Finance Inc., the sole shareholder of Suria Strategic Energy Resources Sdn Bhd (SSER) has announced a new Chairman and the formation of an executive committee (EXCO). SSER is a wholly-owned Minister of Finance Inc. subsidiary set up to undertake the Multi-Product Pipeline (MPP) and the Trans-Sabah Gas Pipeline (TSGP) projects.

Dato’ Asri Hamidon who was also appointed as the chairman of 1MDB, will be the new chairman of SSER. Dato’ Asri, currently the deputy secretary-general overseeing government investment at the Treasury, will lead the company.

The newly formed EXCO members of SSER are:

  • Datuk Wan Mohd Fadzmi bin Wan Othman (former CEO of Agrobank)
  • Hooi Kok Mun (Senior Partner of Grant Thornton Malaysia)
  • Faisal@Pisal bin Abdul Ghani (Ministry of Finance)

Effective 25th June 2018, Grant Thornton Malaysia will manage the SSER’s daily operations and will be led by Kishan Jasani, Partner of Grant Thornton Malaysia.
