The Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) has introduced two important new standards that will reshape financial reporting for many Malaysian entities from 1 January 2027. MFRS 18, Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements, replaces MFRS 101 and introduces significant changes to the presentation of financial performance, management-defined performance measures, and disclosure requirements. The objective is to improve transparency, consistency and comparability of financial statements across industries.

At the same time, MFRS 19, Subsidiaries without Public Accountability: Disclosures, introduces a reduced disclosure framework that allows eligible subsidiaries to apply full recognition and measurement requirements of MFRS Accounting Standards while benefiting from substantially reduced disclosures. This may provide significant efficiencies and cost savings for qualifying entities within corporate groups.

Join us for a complimentary webinar on MFRS 18 and MFRS 19. Learn how the new requirements will affect the presentation of financial performance, management-defined performance measures, and disclosure obligations, as well as how eligible subsidiaries can benefit from the new reduced disclosure framework. Gain practical insights to help your organisation prepare for a smooth transition and stay ahead of upcoming reporting requirements.
