  • Grant Thornton named one of Top 50 Most Attractive Employers in Asia Pacific

"We are honoured by this award, and it is a testament to Grant Thornton people working in Asia Pacific who make Grant Thornton the organisation that it is," said Dato’ Narendra Jasani, Country Managing Partner of Grant Thornton Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur, 11 August 2014 : A survey of more than 87,000 students from across Asia Pacific named Grant Thornton as one of the top 50 most attractive employers. The survey was conducted as part of the Universum Annual Student Survey.

"We are honoured by this award, and it is a testament to Grant Thornton people working in Asia Pacific who make Grant Thornton the organisation that it is," said Dato’ Narendra Jasani, Country Managing Partner of Grant Thornton Malaysia.

"One of our ambitions is to provide a workplace where our people can unlock their potential for growth, both at work, at home and in their community," he said.

"In Grant Thornton Malaysia, we are actively involved with TalentCorp Malaysia’s initiatives such as the Structured Internship Program (SIP), Employment Pass (EPII) and Scholarship Talent Attraction and Retention (STAR)," said Sharon Sung, Partner for Talent & Culture.

"These initiatives offered by TalentCorp were useful in strengthening our firm’s strategic talent management inventiveness," she continued.

"Grant Thornton Malaysia fosters an environment of learning, innovation and integrity where we are committed to develop our talents by providing professional qualification sponsorship for eg. the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and CPA Australia (CPA)," she explained.

"Additionally they are also sent for Grant Thornton courses in professional standards and methodology both locally and overseas. Our employees therefore enjoy the benefits of working in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and fulfilling career with Grant Thornton," she added.

The survey rankings are based on the opinions of students from countries that include Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, and were conducted by Universum, a leading global research and employer branding consultancy.

The survey explores the most common career drivers, student goals and desirable employer attributes when choosing an employer, such as a friendly work environment, and professional training and development.

In a separate 2013 survey, Grant Thornton Asia Pacific ranked 50th in Universum's Ideal Employer ranking which tallied companies that students indicated they would "consider working for" and then selected their five "ideal employers".
