Grant Thornton has been awarded 'Employer of the Year' at an award ceremony in London hosted by the International Accounting Bulletin.

Ed Nusbaum, Global CEO said, "We are honoured to receive this award which recognises the strength of our internal training programmes and the opportunities that we offer internationally through our global talent mobility programme. Supporting the growth and development of Grant Thornton employees across the global organisation is central to our ongoing growth and success. It is the 38,500 people who work for Grant Thornton that make it such a great place to work."

The 'Employer of the Year' award was judged by an independent panel and was based on Grant Thornton's "strong commitment to its employees, secondment programmes, and focus on quality." The judges cited “Grant Thornton's Advanced Manager Programme, the Leadership Foundation programme (which helps staff develop into better leaders), and the Grant Thornton global talent mobility programme, which has so far supported more than 320 secondments across the network."

Dato' NK Jasani, Country Managing Partner, Grant Thornton Malaysia said, "We are honoured by the award and it is a testament that our people make Grant Thornton the organisation that it is. Our ambition is to provide a workplace where they can unlock their potential for growth; at work, at home and in the community."

"In Grant Thornton Malaysia, we are actively involved with TalentCorp Malaysia's initiatives such as the Structured Internship Program (SIP), Employment Pass (EPII) and Scholarship Talent Attraction and Retention (STAR)," he explained.

"These initiatives offered by TalentCorp were useful in strengthening our firm's strategic talent management inventiveness," he continued.

"Grant Thornton Malaysia fosters an environment of learning, innovation and integrity where we are committed to develop our talents by providing professional qualification sponsorship for eg. the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and CPA Australia (CPA)."

"Additionally they are also sent for Grant Thornton courses in professional standards and methodology both locally and overseas. Our employees therefore enjoy the benefits of working in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and fulfilling career with Grant Thornton,"

Earlier this month, Grant Thornton employees joined a three day online engagement event to connect, collaborate and share ideas. Discussions were led by global leaders, managing partners and external experts, and had more than 14,000 people (one in three of the global organisation) register to join the conversation. Almost double the participation from previous IBM Innovation Jam events elsewhere.
