In the second half of 2026, Malaysia's economy had grew 5.4% in the first quarter of 2026, when unemployment sits at around 2.9%, the lowest in a decade, and inflation remains among the region's mildest. However, the SME sentiment index fell to a historic low in the first half of 2026 and the ringgit has had a bumpy last few weeks.
