Dr. Hema Surendranathan has over a decade of experience in sustainability and ESG across a range of industries. She has been involved in sustainability and ESG in higher-education, TMT, shipping and now, assurance and advisory. She has worked in a range of firms from a startup, a research university, to a government agency and a public listed company.
Dr. Hema has led technical and non-technical teams in strategic and operational dimensions of sustainability and ESG. Her work has covered sustainability strategy and roadmaps, sustainability reporting, supply chain sustainability, sustainable finance, energy management and capacity-building.
Dr. Hema seeks to expand her experience to advisory and assurance, bringing her cross-sector background to inform her work at Grant Thornton Malaysia. By working with Grant Thornton in Malaysia, Dr Hema has been able to gain international experience providing her with a global perspective necessary to better assist her clients’ needs in an expanding global marketplace.
