Grant Thornton Malaysia celebrates 45 years of excellence
Grant Thornton Malaysia, one of the leading audit, tax and advisory firms in Malaysia has celebrated their 45 years of establishment with a gala dinner last night. The event was graced by Y.B. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Member of Parliament, Port Dickson as the Guest of Honour. Also present at the event was Mr Peter Bodin, Global CEO of Grant Thornton International Ltd, senior leadership team of Grant Thornton International and over 90 delegates from the Grant Thornton network around the APAC region, notable business owners and management staff of Grant Thornton Malaysia.
95% businesses in Malaysia with women in senior management
According to the latest Women in Business research from Grant Thornton International, the percentage of businesses in Malaysia with at least one woman in senior management is at a high 95%, an increase of 15% in the last year. However, the percentage of women holding senior leadership positions has dropped from 28% last year to 23%.
Grant Thornton records highest growth rate in six years
Grant Thornton International Ltd said today a deliberate focus on key strategic growth markets has led to record combined global revenues of USD5.45 billion for the financial year ended 30 September 2018, driven by broad-based growth of 9.4% across the network. This is the network’s highest rate of growth in six years.

In Malaysia, 80% of businesses now have at least one women on the senior management team. The percentage of women in senior management has increased from 24% in 2017 to 28% in 2018 and this has been the highest since 2011 (31%).
