News update

Senior Partner, Dato’ Narendra Jasani has been Fully Discharged and Acquitted from all CBT and AMLA Charges

Grant Thornton Malaysia is happy to state that our Senior Partner, Dato’ Narendra Jasani has been Fully Discharged and Acquitted from all CBT and AMLA Charges.

This occurred on Friday, 17 March 2023 before the Trials began. Based on the Legal Representations made by our Lawyers; the Attorney General’s Chamber (AGC) had proposed, and this was enhanced by the Honourable Judge to a Full Discharge and Acquittal (DAA) from all charges.

As stated in our Lawyer’s Representations to the AGC, all transactions are related to Dato’ Jasani acting in his professional capacity as the Receiver & Manager for Sabah Forest Industries Sdn. Bhd. (“SFI”). All these transactions were valid transactions for SFI without any benefit to Dato Jasani, our Firm or any other third parties.

We are happy that the AGC and the Honourable Judge has granted a Full Discharge and Acquittal. This reflects the high integrity and professional standards that were always upheld by Dato’ Jasani and the Firm.

Grant Thornton Malaysia reassures all our Clients and Stakeholders that we practice high professional standards and integrity for all our assignments and we thank you for your trust and invaluable support.
