Grant Thornton expands in Johor Bahru

This is an exciting development and we welcome M.S. Wong & Co. to Grant Thornton Malaysia and the Grant Thornton global network, where they will join more than 50,000 people in over 130 countries working together to help dynamic organisations unlock their potential for growth.

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 August 2018 – Grant Thornton Malaysia strengthens its presence in the Southern region with the merger of its operations in Johor Bahru with M.S. Wong & Co. The new establishment will be known as Grant Thornton MSW, effective 1st September 2018.

Grant Thornton Malaysia, a member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd., is one of the leading audit, tax and advisory firms in Malaysia. With offices in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuantan and Cambodia, the firm provides professional services to public listed companies and many other big Government Linked Companies (GLCs) and Multinational Corporations (MNCs).

M.S. Wong & Co. has been established since 1981 and the firm provides audit, tax advisory, management consulting and corporate services, serving Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to large multinationals. 

Grant Thornton MSW will be led by Mr. Wong Wen Tak, Managing Partner of Grant Thornton MSW and co-managed by Mr. Desmond Tan, Senior Partner of Grant Thornton Malaysia. The firm will also be supported by En. Mohd Heizrin, Audit Partner of Grant Thornton Malaysia and Ms. Yau Chew Yin, Tax Executive Director of Grant Thornton MSW.

The new establishment will boast a team of more than 70 personnel, making Grant Thornton one of the largest in audit, tax and advisory in Johor Bahru, having taxation expertise in indirect tax, SST, GST closure, Transfer Pricing, vast experience in Statutory Audit, Reporting Accountants, IPO and Corporate Advisory, serving Public Listed Companies and Multinational Corporations.
